Sawyer Hollow

Sawyer Hollow is a great band of young pickers, from Virginia that I got a chance to see when I was in Bristol, VA/TN a few weeks ago for the Rhythm and Roots Reunion music festival. These three guys flat out rip. I'm hoping I can get them out to Colorado at some point in the future. Check out their myspace page and this video of their version of Cluck Old Hen from one of their sets in Bristol. I'll try to have the set that I recorded up soon.

These guys are tremendous. Andy Thacker is, in my opinion, the finest young mandolin player in Virginia. Many of you might know Nick Reeb from his time with King Wilkie - a finer fiddler you won't find. And Ryan McGiver, is a killer guitar player and one of the nicest guys I met all weekend.

I'm still a bit offended that Nick wouldn't drink my shine, though. Andy and Ryan did - and neither of them went blind!
